Boyhood Hero

This is one of my boyhood heroes. Mr. Jimmy Clark, a Scottish farmer turned World Champion Grand Prix driver. This photo was taken immediately after his first F1 win, the 1962 GP of Belgium. Jimmy died in a race car, in Hockenheim Germany in 1968.

For years, this photo lived next to a picture of Jean Shrimpton. My how times have changed.

I don't remember Mr. Clark but I do remember Ms. Shrimpton -- yes, times have changed!

I see that Jean Shrimpton and her husband now run "a small hotel in Penzance." I for one wold make the pilgrimage.

Could we put the husband on a small raft and let him drift out to sea?
