Fellow Dominique Browning fans

I almost cried when House and Garden went away. I had promised myself I would read telephone books if Dominique Browning wrote them, if only H&G wouldn't die. I miss her monthly column. For those of you who need a DB fix, I direct you to the latest Garden and Gun.

I feel left out -- I've never heard of Dominque Browning -- but now I'm enchanted.

Thanks for sharing.

Check to see if your library has or will get some of her books. She writes a great deal about her life, being a mom, preparing to be an empty nester, her home. She is touching and thought provoking.

I think many people, man or woman can see themselves in her writing.

Toad,

She is a great writer and that piece made me so proud to be from the South. I love this magazine and the thought that goes into it.

Thank You,
Duck

Duck, I was afraid you died. I hope you post soon. I have been missing you.

Thanks Toad. Work has been busy lately and I have been feeling uninspired. Hell, why am I complaining, I have a job.

Many thanks for this. I discovered DB last summer when I picked up her two books on a whim at BookCloseouts.com, and I was entranced. I've heard wonderful things about her monthly H&G columns, but I suppose it's hoping to much that they might one day be compiled...

Never thought I'd be reading a magazine with the word "gun" in the title, but there are some amazing photos over there. Thanks for the link.

As her editor, I'm thrilled to hear your enthusiasm for Dominique Browning. I thought you might be interested to learn that Dominique's latest memoir (chronicling the year after the close of House & Garden) will be published in May 2010 by Atlas & Co. I hope you'll check it out and spread the word!
