With good reason Mrs. T rarely turns me loose in a grocery store. Like most of my confreres I don't always limit myself to the produce and yogurt sections of the store and will sometimes go off wandering to the bakery or peanut and whiskey sections. A weekend foray uncovered this gem. Spray on pancakes.
As a society, have we fallen so far off the mark to believe that pancakes from an aerosol can might be a great idea? Would someone rationally explain the benefit of canned pancakes? I weep for the youth and future of this country. (Last rant of the month, I promise)

Things like this make me cry. Pancakes are so easy to whip up from scratch. Whatever happened to keeping the kitchen stocked with flour and eggs?
Of course, McD pancakes are frozen so why not these! Like Mrs. T, I rarely forage outside the perimeter of markets -- I guess I miss a lot!
Sometimes I marvel at how lazy people have become when taking a trip through the grocery store. Can you believe that you can buy cheese already chunked and ham cut up in little cubes? Don't people own knives?
I saw this the other day and it made me wretch - right there in the dairy aisle.
And we wonder why Americans are so unhealthy! Apparently we can't even manage to stir batter. Disgusting.
Sir: You have a marvelous blog. I just discovered it. Keep it coming.
that looks disgusting! i thought using bisquick to make pancakes was cheating!
Using Bisquick could make you the new Martha Stewart
Pancakes are such a snap to whip up. I love that they are organic, clearly trying to market to the Lazy Health Nuts!
I totally agree. But I have friends who have tried them and they say they are great.
Drop 'em like hot cakes Mrs. B.
The next logical step is to serve syrup in either the spray butter pumps, or whipped cream cans.
No...you put artificial syrup flavoring IN THE PANCAKES.
The ceremony of preparing food is becoming extinct.......I still keep the french press at hand when I feel the need to grind coffee beans, heat water, fill, press and wait.........
That's IT, people HATE to wait.
It's all about immediate gratification.
Ugh.
For some things to go back to basics, that would be very good...........

YUCK!
I'm sure the hate mail will follow my response but here goes. We love Batter Blaster at our house. I would have thought it to be a joke had I not had a sample first. I have 3 sons who play sports and burn hundreds of calories a day. I work very hard to give them healthy snacks that keep them filled up -- but I'm not always available. Or do I always want to cook them something when they arrive home starving from practice at 9pm and I've just cleaned my kitchen. This is where this comes in handy...they can make them themselves and quickly. After school also. We don't use it on weekends when we have a good family breakfast or even before school in the morning. I'm just a mom looking for quick with a little healthy thrown in that can be stored. I'm always open for suggestions - so if anyone with 3 sons (and an active daughter) can pass some along. great. But, please don't hate my Batter Blaster until you understand why I buy it.
At the risk of sounding too hate the sin, love the sinner I am willing to take Jessica at face value, and hope they do taste ok.
However, at our house Pancakes are simple a butter and sugar delivery device. By actual count there is less fat and sugar in a Snickers bar than in a rasher of Cakes (butter with low sugar syrup).
Probably low fat ice cream and chocolate sauce is more healthful.
I emphasize with the problem all right, but am unwilling to accept any virtue in BB's
