OK Corral

Allen street, Tombstone, looking east, with a parade in progress.
Main entrance to O. K. Corral in clump of trees, top center.

On this date in 1881, at approximately 3pm, what has become known as the Gunfight at the OK Corral in Tombstone, Arizona Territory took place.

The gun fight took place not at the OK Corral , but in the alleyway shown behind the wagon on the left.

My name is Katie Wornek and I am a researcher for a television show called American Ride ( We are interested in using the image of Tombstone found on your blog ( I see it is credited to W.B. Shillingberg but I have been unsuccessful in finding a way to contact Mr. Shillingberg or his estate. Would you please assist me in learning how to obtain the rights to use this image?

Thank you for your help. Rather than commenting back, please email me at

The fight was not on allen street. It was on fremont street, the next street over. It was at the corner of freemont and 3rd which puts the fight closer to other buildings like the photoshop, harwood haus and bauers butchery aka bauers union market. The rear entrance to the ok corral sitting on fremont would have been the next closest landmark after these other buildings.
