Bing

Have you tried it?

For those on vacation, Microsoft has once again copied another's product instead of doing something unique. Their new foray is called Bing, its a search engine which aims to compete with Google's. Frankly, it's not bad, and that is coming from a died in the wool Microsoft hater.

Competition makes the product better and in some ways Bing trumps.

Take a look at the image search function. Comes without the clutter of Google.

Standard search is so so but many of the more esoteric features work very well.

Give it a shot. It will make Google better.

Toad...I'm all for making Gooogle better. And, I believe that Gates will get some concession on his dastardly contrivances like "Vista" through his humanatarian efforts at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Otherwise, Bing and the rest of their efforts are just redux.

Especially in image search Bing's user experience is far superior to Google's (and Google 'owns' me through Gmail, Voice, Google Reader... I'm indentured).

Overall - I like it quite a lot. But I haven't changed it to my default search box just yet.

Just put it on my search engine list. I'm pretty hooked on google, though.

Have you seen the bing v google site where you can put the same query in and see the results from both? I did my name and bing came back with a lot fewer than google... but it had some results that weren't on Google.

Thanks, I didn't know it existed. I'm unlikely to leave G, but I think Biing will likely improve Google over time.
