La Fete Nationale

Without the intervention of the French government, the United States would not exist. Perhaps without the intervention of the American government, France would not exist. Two countries intertwined in history, with deep mutual misunderstanding and disdain.

Well I love the French. Every modern notion of elegance, comfort, style, and sophistication is a French invention, for which I'm grateful.

The citizens of France , we salute you on your National Day.

I've been on a crazy French tear in my reading: The Paris Wife, The Greater Journey, The Duchess of Windsor: Secret Life, etc.. I wanted to give you a heads up: We are excited to be included in HGTV's Freebie Friday giveaway tomorrow. We are giving away a cool Asian lacquer coffee or low side table in one of 5 color options, so come on by for a chance to win!! Its worth upwards of $500.00 so its our biggest yet.
Good Luck!

Even on this side of the Atlantic, we admired your soccer girls, they certainly deserved to win ! And as a Norman, I know we owe you a big part of our freedom. So long live the U.S and France (and may both countries recover some sort of economic security) !

In my retirement, I've decided to try and read some real, detailed history, and found out as you stated, they paid for our revolution, and also heavily staffed it. Not what you get in your standard high school texts, or college for the most part. And the shame of it is, there's no great reason for leaving it out.
