A dear friend passed recently. While in declining health she asked, when the time came, that we take care of her much loved, constant companion, Pooh. Today became that day, and we are honored to do so.
This is Pooh, a 5 year old Shih Tzu, an absolute sweet heart who has had a hard couple of weeks. After a bath, a bone, a brushing and quiet time she will be fit right in.
As much as one Shih Tzu made me laugh, two are going to keep me in constant hysterics.

Bless you heart for this.
May we all have such good friends as you when are time comes.
What a great comfort this must have been.
I dread the day I have to take my collie for the final ride - but I will be there to hug her as she fades to doggie heaven. It reminds me of the versus in Rainbow Bridge. If you haven't heard of it - google it - you'll appreciate it.
Oh wonderful, for your friend, for her dog, for you.
This is such a deeply kind thing of you to do. I agree about how great a comfort it must have been for your friend to know that you would take in Pooh and make her part of your family.
And having read your comment on SlowLove, sounds like your heart was already heavy this week, you dear man.
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. What a gift you are able to share amongst yourselves in this short life!
I'm sorry for your loss, Toad.
Pooh is a dollface!
I am sorry to hear about your friend's passing. You are a good friend to give her dog a loving home.
When I read this, I was reminded of the photo taken of that poor lost dog in Brazil who waits by the graveside of his mistress who died in the horrific mudslide. Your little Pooh is no doubt just as dazed and confused. You and Mrs. T ---a godsend for her.
So sorry to hear of your loss, but so happy for the little dog that she has you. x
