pride and prejudice

Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice was published on this date 200 years ago.

I love this book, especially how well written the minor characters are.  Keira Knightley will forever be marked as Elizabeth and Donald Sutherland, her father in my minds eye.  That said, I have despised EVERY Darcy who has taken on the role.  Elizabeth, was at her most sensible to not to have been taken in by that fool.

Just sayin'

Colin Firth. Period.

I do love the Keira Knightley version. I thought she did a wonderful job, and the Chatsworth House was breath-taking as Pemberley.

Dude you are totally out voted! You must not have seen the Colin Firth version of Darcy.

What I don't like is Darcy. I'll accept Mr. Firth may be the greatest human to ever wear the mantle of Darcy. I just think Darcy's a jerk, and Lizzie could have done better.

Slightly off-subject for a bit.

Are you a movie buff, Toad? I wondered if you've ever seen "King of the Hill" starring Jesse Bradford. Part memoir of A.E. Hotchner. It haunts me still.
