Lawrence of Arabia

Change whatever plans you have for Thursday.  In honor of the 50th anniversary of the release of the greatest movie, bar none, of all films ever released, Lawrence of Arabia- two special screenings are being held, Thursday only,  in select theatres around the world of the newly remastered and redigitized version of the film.  According to Sunday's New York Times the latest remaster is being shown at 4 times BluRay quality.

It's a must see. I trust you'll be there.  I'll be at the early show.

Oh, Lawrence of Arabia. Best movie of all times. Both husband Jim and I thought so until a few years ago we talked Daughter Sarah into watching it with us. . .

The sets are impressive but the acting, the acting does not stand up to the test of time as other movies do (even cheaper less colossal movies like It's a Wonderful Life)

It went from a great movie to a movie that we wouldn't watch again!

Toad, totally agree with you. As an Arab American who knows a bit about the history of the Middle East, I find this movie absolutely captivating. Probably the greatest movie of all time in my book. Thanks for the heads up about the anniversary special showings.

I had no idea it was coming until Sunday. Having spent all last week immersed in WW1 middle east books, including the Hero, I cannot wait.

A great film by all accounts...best ever...I am not so sure.
I do love this film and own a DVD wde screen addition. I saw it in the Theatre in 1970 on a re-release at "The Suburban" in Ardmore PA...Quinn's screaming line of "NO Prisoners" stuck with me for years. Thanks for the heads up.

a film that W and Obama should have watched. Would teach them more than the so-called Mid East experts.
