While he and his wife were at work, and the kids at school, someone broke into their home and stole anything that plugged in. Television, computer, games, pods, and players.
The local gendarmes says yah that happens around here sometimes. It won't be quick but we might get some of it back.
While most of it is stuff, and can be replaced, the sense of being violated takes much longer to heal. Mercifully, no one was home, or hurt.
Oddly, the day they lost theirs, I received an XBox. Obviously, I am not a gamer. In fact I made my boys play with the sound off. Continuous Mario driveling noise can quickly throw the unawares over the edge. I was close most of the time.
No my X box is somewhat different.
Mrs. T gave it to me on her anniversary. I was shocked since come anniversary time she gets not gives. Here it is.
It's a small jewelry box. Ten years, X, get it?

Having had someone steal things from us, you do feel so violated even thought it is "things" that can be replaced!

So sorry to hear about your son's house - the same thing happened to our friends last week. They are heart-sick over it, as well as scared and unsettled. Hate that.

Love the box. Sorry about the robbery at your son's house. My business was broken into a few years ago. It is a strange feeling to know that someone was there and took your things. I sometimes wonder if they still come to the store and shop. Maybe I even chat and laugh with them. . . .

We had a neighborhood crime spree about 2 years ago, they went right by our house and hit households who had school age kids, so we think, sadly, it was a school aged kid.
I love the X box, how clever! My sister was going to get all her girlfriends rings with 40 in Roman numerals to commemorate a birthday trip they all took - she put the kibosh on that when she learned 40 = XL.

What a clever idea! Happy anniversary. Sad to hear about the break-in; it is always very disturbing to have that happen. Touch wood my two experiences are all that I'll have in this life.
