October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
It's not a woman's disease. It's a family disease that, according to the Centers For Disease Control, directly affects 190,000 women and their families per year.
Including mine.
Early detection is the best medicine. Monthly self exams, mammograms as prescribed, and reducing bad habits may save your life.
Take good care of your self, if not for you, then for me. I like having you around.
In the mean time support the local chapter of the Susan G Koman race for the cure.
Or the good work of the National Cancer Institute

ReplyDeleteWe just finished our local Race for the Cure in Boston with close to $600,000 raised.
ReplyDeleteOur top fundraiser was a high school senior who spearheaded Kids for the Cure and raised $11,375 on his own and lead his team to an astounding $577 per capita! The next closest team came in at $155.
