Roscoe

Like all good dog people, Paige never, ever lets anyone talk smack about her dog, and get away with it. Especially me.

Seated with Paige is her buddy Roscoe. Roscoe's part this, and part that and all feisty. I'm uncertain he is a dog at all being convinced it's a flying squirrel.

Whatever Roscoe may be, he is certainly loved, and will now be missed.

Roscoe found his eternal reward today after being assaulted by a much larger brute over the weekend. It was unfair fight, sadly witnessed by his nearest and dearest.

Paige darling, I share your sadness, and hope you soon come to learn that good dogs stay forever in our memories. You will have more dogs, but never another Roscoe.

  1. that's a hard one, Toad. My best to your adorable Paige (and her adorable Roscoe) as she works through this. my two sons still feel the sadness of their loss of "Kona" who was merely given away to another family.

  2. Oh Toad, how horrible for Paige. We recently lost a devoted "friend" and my daughter has had a very hard time with it. I'm so sorry she had to see it. And I hope the brute was appropriately dealt with!

  3. They are pretty strict over here about vicious dogs. They get the axe after only one or two chances. That must have been truly awful for Paige to witness. I'm very sorry to hear of her devastating experience.

  9. That is a terrible thing to happen to the young girl and to the dog....whoever owns the attacking dog deserves a damn thrashing ...
Perhaps a stealthily delivered offering of meat (that has been specially "prepared") should be in that dogs future.

  12. Oh my! I'm a dog lover and a lover of those who love dogs! (and other people too). My heart aches... so sorry.

It helps to buy a slab memorial that can go in a garden as a remembrance. We have one for our cocker spaniel- Toby.

  13. What a sweet and tender post. The loss of a pet is so hard and this senseless attack is unforgivable. I hope Paige didn't get injured in the incident. Blessings to all.

Oh, Toad...I'm so sorry. Your heart is breaking for your little Paige and there's nothing, absolutely nothing you can do to ease her pain.
